Mind at Work

This is an exciting new three-year project at Hillingdon Mind, funded by the Big Lottery through its "Reaching Communities" grant programme.

People with experience of mental health problems sometimes don't know how to find their way through the systems, or they lack the motivation or confidence to access training and work preparation.

The objective of the project is to help people with experience of common mental health problems, such as anxiety, depression, and phobias, develop the confidence to move forward on their journey towards employment - whether a first-time job, or a return to work.

The support we shall offer through the project will include:

  • developing confidence and self-esteem
  • exploring training, learning and development
  • finding and taking opportunities for volunteering and/or work experience
  • developing and using job-search skills effectively
